What is the Difference Between Self Love and Narcissism?

In Season 2 of my podcast, Fascinating with Sasha Tobago, I talk at length about Self Love and societal narcissism.
The term "narcissist" was inspired by the ancient Greek myth of Narcissus and Echo, in which a drop dead gorgeous young man named, Narcissus, falls "in love" with his own reflection.
Nowadays, people mistakenly think that a narcissist is someone who is obsessively in love with themself.
In Truth, however, it is the exact opposite. Which I explain in this revised excerpt from the first episode in my miniseries on Self Love:
What is the difference between Self Love and narcissism?
The difference is that a person with healthy Self Love has healthy Self Esteem; and healthy Self Confidence. And they don't have an inferiority complex.
When you fall in Love with yourself, you learn to accept Yourself for who you are; while also challenging yourself to be the best version of Yourself that you can be.
A narcissist, on the other hand, does not have high Self Esteem. Instead, they are self-absorbed. They are self-absorbed because they lack a depth of Self Love for themselves.
Narcissists have a deep insecurity complex. They do not like or Love themselves. They lack Self Acceptance. They don't spend a lot of time on Self Reflection. They don't like to be held accountable. They don't like to hold themselves accountable for anything.
They don't really spend their time and energy growing as a person; growing as a human being; evolving as a human being. They're literally stuck in childhood, basically. They lack maturity. They lack Self Discipline. They lack emotional intelligence and True Self Confidence.
Do not mistake self-absorption for True, authentic, healthy Self Love.
You can see this in the way people operate. When a person has an abundance of Self Love for themselves, they want you to feel good about yourself. They spread Love and light and happiness, in public and in private.
When a person is a self-absorbed narcissist, they spend most of their days thinking negatively about themself. They spend their Time and energy seeking Love and validation from other people. And they will try to get validation however they can, including trying to control you.
So there is a very big difference between Self Love versus narcissistic self-absorption. One has healthy Self Esteem; the other has extremely low Self Esteem.
