The artwork is inspired by a scene in the 1956 film, Giant, which was filmed in Marfa in sweltering, 100-degree heat. The film starred a Golden Age trifecta of talent: Taylor, Rock Hudson, and James Dean.

Dean shot his final scene for the film just days before his life came to a tragic end in a car crash. He was not yet 25 years old.
