The first time I heard this ballad, its gorgeous, heartfelt melody captivated my heart.

Lacking a command of Portuguese, I had no idea what Brazilian singer-songwriter, Rodrigo Alarcon, was saying. But, drawing upon my high school Spanish, I deduced coração had something to do with the heart. So I figured it must be a love ballad, as ballads often are.

Turns out, it is indeed about love... but of a different kind. The love of a son for his father:

"I wrote it during a very difficult time, when my father had a heart disease," Alarcon shared in an interview.

"The song basically tells him to watch out for his health, because he is loved and needed."
